FAQ

What should I bring/wear to class?

For a 6 week class, please bring your tool kit* (including at least a metal rib, wooden rib, needle tool, wire cut off tool, wooden knife, sponge, trimming tool), a 1 gallon bucket, a towel, and a lock for your locker. A notebook and pencil to sketch ideas may also be helpful for the hand building class. (If you are attending a short workshop or special event the tools will be provided.)

Most clay and glaze materials will wash out of clothes but please wear comfortable clothing and expect to get a little dirty. You may also want to bring an apron. Do not wear long necklaces or bracelets and tie long hair back. Closed toe shoes are recommended.

When will my pottery be ready to pick up after my workshop?

Pieces will usually take 3-4 weeks to be glazed and fired after a workshop. You will be notified via email when your finished work is ready to pick up. Finished work will be held for 60 days after notification; after 60 days any unclaimed work will be discarded. Please check your spam email folder, if you have not received an email within 6 weeks of your workshop please contact the studio.

What if I miss a class?

We are unable to issue a refund for missed classes during a 6 week session, however, arrangements can be made to attend another session during the same week if space is available.

If you miss a class you may still attend Open Studio Hours on Saturdays to work.

What if Riverside Pottery cancels a class?

6 Week Classes: We are unable to issue a refund for a class that must be canceled due to reasons beyond our control (heavy snow/ice, power outage, etc). However, we will do our best to schedule a make up class if possible or schedule time individually. If multiple classes must be cancelled by the studio then a pro-rated refund or credit will be issued.

If the instructor must cancel a class due to personal reasons and a make up class is not possible, then a refund or credit will be issued for the missed class.

Workshops: If a workshop is cancelled a refund or credit will be issued.
