Hand building classes are great for those new to clay. Learn building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab work, as well as some advanced techniques if you are already familiar with the basics. Hand building classes can be great for throwers too, expanding your repertoire of techniques and letting you look at clay in a new way.
This class includes 6 weeks of instruction, 25 lbs of clay, glazing and firing.
Classes will meet:
Wednesdays, 1-3:30pm, March 11 - 25, April 1, 8, 22, no class April 15
Have fun getting messy while learning the quintessential ceramic technique of making pottery on a pottery wheel. This class will introduce you to the fundamentals of using the wheel to center, pull a wall, and create basic forms. If you have taken the class previously, you will be able to improve on your basic skills and learn new techniques. Make your own plates, bowls, cups and more! All skill levels welcome, no experience necessary.
